Payment integration within Scribe Accounts enables users to connect their accounts with Stripe, an external payment processer, to facilitate online payments. You will need to create a Stripe account first in order to integrate Stripe with Scribe.
Adding a New Bank Account
We recommend setting up a separate 'Stripe' bank account in Scribe for easy reconciling.
- Navigate to Setup → Bank Balances.
- Click the "+" button or Edit → Add Record.
- Enter "Stripe" as the name and leave the opening balance at £0.00.
Adding Stripe to Scribe
1. Navigate to Payment Integrations
- Navigate to Account → Payment Integration. If you do not see this menu, contact Scribe Support to enable the payment integration option for your account.
2. Retrieve API Keys from Stripe
- After registering and logging into your Stripe account click on Developers in the top right corner.
- Select API Keys.
- Copy the Publishable Key from Stripe and paste it into the Publishable Key box in Scribe.
- Click to reveal the Secret Key in Stripe, copy it, and paste it into the Secret Key box in Scribe.
3. Configure Stripe Transaction Details in Scribe
- Select your 'Stripe' bank account from the drop-down.
- Select a cost code to allocate Stripe transaction fees. You may decide to create a new 'Stripe fees' cost code.
- Once you have entered all the required details, click Save.
*Note that there will be a Stripe fee for processing payments via Stripe. See Stripe payment fees for more details. To account for this payment you'll need to select the bank account and cost code in which you wish to allocate Stripe transaction fees. By selecting 'None' it will go to the bank account on the invoice
By following these steps, you will successfully integrate Stripe with Scribe Accounts, allowing for seamless payment processing.
