How to Cancel a Tenancy in Scribe Allotments and Reallocate the Plot

If you need to cancel a tenancy for any reason and make the plot available for a new tenant, follow the steps below. This process involves updating the tenancy status to "Cancelled" in the tenant's record, which automatically makes the plot available again.

Step 1: Access the Tenant Record

Navigate to Tenants in the Scribe Allotments application. This section contains a list of all current and past tenants.

Step 2: Find the Tenant

Use the Quick Search feature to locate the specific tenant whose tenancy you wish to cancel. You can search by name, plot number, or other relevant details. Click the plot reference number to open up the tenancy record.

Step 3: Update the Tenancy Status

Scroll down to the 'Status' dropdown menu within Additional Details.  Click on the dropdown and select 'Cancelled'. This action will update the tenancy status and automatically trigger the availability of the plot for reassignment.

Step 4: Save Changes

Ensure that you click the Save button after making changes to confirm the update. The system will save the new status and the plot will now show as available in the system.

Step 5: Reallocate the Plot

With the plot now available, you can assign it to a new tenant either through the Waiting List or by creating a new tenancy directly in the Plots section.

By following these steps, you ensure a smooth transition of plot allocation from a cancelled tenant to a new tenant, maintaining efficient management of your allotment spaces.
