In this November release, we’re making an introduction to the powerful new tools, that our Team is working hard on implementing, for managing asset inspections, designed to make compliance tracking more intuitive and flexible. Thanks to feedback from our users, we’ve introduced an Inspection Regime feature, complete with dynamic guidance. Here’s what’s new:

New Feature: Inspection Regime Management for Compliance and Operational Standards

Our latest update automatically assigns inspection regimes to asset types, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards:

  • Compliance and Operational Inspection Regimes: Assets can now include inspection regimes for both Compliance and Operational needs, with frequency options such as Daily, Monthly, Annually, and more.
  • Dynamic Tooltips: Beside each inspection regime field, we display Civic.ly’s recommended inspection frequencies based on the asset’s subcategory, serving as a useful reference to guide best practices.

⚠️Important note: Civic.ly provides default recommendations of inspection regimes as guidance, but it is your responsibility to select the correct regime. Please review and adapt recommendations to suit your specific needs.

  • Editable Inspection Frequencies: Users can customise inspection frequencies to suit their specific needs, while still having Civic.ly’s recommendations as a fallback reference.

These changes provide a streamlined, flexible solution to help you maintain and track asset compliance.

Redesigned Asset Edit Page

To improve usability, we’ve updated the asset edit page layout for better organisation and clarity:

  • New Layout: The inspection regime fields have been moved to a more logical position on the page, along with asset's condition.
  • Guidance Note: Under the inspection regime section, a reminder emphasizes that Civic.ly’s inspection recommendations are intended as guidance only. Users are encouraged to review and adapt these recommendations to match their organization’s unique needs.

This redesign offers a cleaner, easier-to-use page layout that supports quick access to inspection details.

Enhanced List View with Inspection Regime Columns

For added convenience, Civic.ly’s list view now includes inspection regime information:

  • New Columns: Compliance and Operational Inspection Regime columns are now available in the list view, enabling quick access to inspection details for all assets.
  • Sorting and Filtering: Users can sort and filter by inspection regimes, making it easy to locate assets by inspection frequency or status.
  • Data Export: Inspection regime information is now also included in CSV exports, helping with external reporting or further analysis.

This update simplifies the management of inspection regimes across multiple assets in one place.

Bulk Editing and Deletion for Inspection Regimes

Civic.ly’s bulk editing and deletion features now support inspection regime fields to make large-scale updates more efficient:

  • Bulk Update and Delete: Easily apply, edit or delete inspection regimes across multiple assets at once for quick updates or data clean-up.
  • Confirmation Modal and Feedback Messages: To ensure safe bulk editing, users are prompted with a confirmation modal and receive success/error feedback messages.

With this feature, asset managers can efficiently manage inspection data across large asset groups, improving data accuracy and reducing manual work.

Enhanced Dashboard for Inspection Insights

Operational Inspections Overview

A new dashboard card provides an at-a-glance view of projected operational inspections for the year, highlighting the total number of inspections and the proportion that are conducted frequently.

Compliance Inspections Overview

This new widget helps you monitor compliance inspection requirements with projections for the year and insights into how often inspections occur.

Both cards are designed to provide key insights quickly and intuitively, ensuring better oversight of your council’s inspection demands:

Streamlined Dashboard Layout

To improve usability, we’ve removed the weather widget from the dashboard. This change allows for a cleaner interface, ensuring users can focus on critical information.

Civic.ly’s November release gives you greater control and overview of your council's asset inspections, supporting both operational and compliance goals. We’re excited to see how the new task management features that we're currently working on developing will streamline your asset management, and we’re grateful to our users for their valuable insights and feedback.

Stay tuned for more enhancements, and thank you for being part of the Civic.ly community!
