How to give the Civicly Team your feedback

Civicly is a newly developed application designed to streamline and enhance the asset management process for town and parish councils. It offers a comprehensive suite of tools that aim to facilitate efficient management of community assets, enabling councils to better serve their constituents.

Providing your valuable feedback on Civicly is crucial for its continuous improvement and ensuring it meets its users' needs.

This article outlines best practices for providing constructive and actionable feedback that will help us make Civicly App better for all our users.

Types of feedback we’d love to receive from you

  1. User Experience (UX) Feedback: This involves the app's usability, design, and navigation. It's crucial for identifying any user interface issues that could hinder the effective use of Civicly.
  1. Feature Requests: As a user, you might identify potential features that could enhance the app's functionality or suggest modifications to existing features to make them more useful.
  1. Bugs and Glitches: Reporting technical issues, bugs, and glitches is essential for the development team to address and fix them promptly.
  1. Performance Feedback: This includes feedback on the app's speed, responsiveness, and any crashes or downtime you’ve experienced.

How to Provide Valuable Feedback

  1. Be Specific: Clearly describe the issue or suggestion, including the specific feature or part of the app it relates to. If possible, provide steps to reproduce any problems encountered.

Example of specific feedback for an e-commerce website:

I've noticed that when I search for specific items, I get a bunch of unrelated results. For example, searching for "running shoes" brings up everything from hats to water bottles. Makes shopping a bit frustrating. Maybe tightening up the search results to match our queries better would help? Would really make finding what I need a lot easier. Thanks!

  1. Offer Solutions: Whenever feasible, suggest potential solutions or improvements.
  1. Include Context: Provide context for your feedback, such as how a particular feature fits into your asset management process or why a suggested feature would be beneficial.
  1. Prioritise Feedback: If providing multiple pieces of feedback, prioritise them based on impact (if you can). This will help the development team address the most critical issues first.
  1. Stay Positive: Constructive criticism will be very much appreciated. Recognise what works well in addition to what could be improved. Our Team here would love to hear your thoughts!
