How to Use the Bulk Edit Feature in Scribe Accounts

When using the bulk edit feature in Scribe Accounts, it is important to understand how it works and how to make the most of its functionality. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to use the bulk edit feature effectively:

  1. Adding Payment Items: When adding a payment item into the cashbook, make sure to tick the "awaiting authorisation" box. This indicates that the payment item is pending approval.

  2. Setting Transaction Date: It is recommended to set the transaction date of the payment item to the date of the next meeting. This helps in keeping track of when the payment is to be made.

  3. Authorising Payments: Once the payments have been authorised, you can use the "filter" box within your payments list to view and select the payment items with the status "awaiting authorisation = yes".

  4. Bulk Edit: Select the payment items that have been authorised and are no longer pending approval. From the bulk edit screen, you can update the transaction date to the current date or the date of payment. You can also add a minute reference for record-keeping purposes.  The tick will automatically be removed from the awaiting authorisation box as the system assumes that it has been approved for you.

By following these steps and tips, you can effectively use the bulk edit feature in Scribe Accounts to streamline your payment management process.
