How to Reopen a Closed Financial Year in Scribe Accounts

If you need to make amendments to a financial year that has already been closed in Scribe Accounts, you can easily reopen it. Here’s a step-by-step on how to do this:

  1. Access the Previous Year:

    • Navigate to the prior financial year via the menu on the left.
  2. Reopen the Financial Year:

    • On the 'Home' screen for the previously closed financial year, click on the red 'Re-open' icon.
    • Ensure all boxes are unticked and click 'Confirm' to re-open the financial year.
  3. Make Necessary Amendments:

    • Once the financial year is reopened, you can go ahead and make the required adjustments or additions to your records.
    • If working in Income & Expenditure, ensure you run 'Calculate' under the Year End menu.
    • Review the updates reports to ensure figures are correct.
  4. Close the Financial Year Again:

    • Once you have confirmed the final figures, you can close the financial year again.
    • Under Year End/Close Accounts, select all boxes and click 'Confirm'.
