How can I change the cashed date of a transaction?
If you need to amend the cashed date of a transaction in Scribe Accounts, follow the detailed steps below. These instructions cover both individual and bulk updates to transaction dates.
Step 1: Uncash the Transaction
To change the cashed date, you must first uncash the transaction. Here’s how you can do it:
For an Individual Transaction:
- Navigate to Transactions → select either Payments or Receipts depending on the type of transaction you are updating.
- Find the transaction you want to edit, then click on the three dots on the right-hand side and select Edit.
- In the transaction details, untick the box next to Cashed.
- Click Save to update the changes.
For Multiple Transactions:
- Navigate to Transactions → select Payments or Receipts.
- Click on the Edit button in the top right corner, then select Bank Edit.
- Next to each transaction you wish to uncash, click on the Cashed Date dropdown and change it to None.
- After making the changes for all required transactions, click Save Changes in the top right corner to update.
Step 2: Re-cash the Transaction to the Correct Date
Once the transaction is uncashed, you can set the correct cashed date.
- Navigate to Bank → Reconcile.
- Enter the correct cashed date and your closing bank statement amount in the required fields.
- Tick off the transactions that you are updating to reflect the new cashed date.
- Click Save to finalise the changes.
